Since August 15th, 2019 PNB Bank suspended the implementation of financial transactions by decision of the Latvian Finance and Capital Market Commission. The Commission’s decision contains, inter alia, a ban on money transfers and processing of customers’ payment; the decision also halts the work of bank cards and ATMs.
In the statement of the Commission it is said that the European Central Bank concluded that the PNB bank could face financial difficulties, which led to the adoption of such decision.
On the bank’s website it is reported that according to the Law on Guaranteeing Deposits, payments must begin not later than on the eighth business day, starting since August 27th.
