UAE is on the European Commission's grey list

				03.05.2024
The UAE is still on the European Commission's grey list.

The European Commission has adopted a new Regulation on third countries with strategic weaknesses in their regimes related to money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (2016/1675).

The European Parliament rejected the European Commission's proposal to exclude the UAE from the list of countries.
Now the European Commission has the responsibility to provide evidence that the UAE has eliminated all the shortcomings that pose a risk to the EU financial system.
In addition to the UAE, Afghanistan, Gibraltar, Panama, Iran, Gibraltar and other countries are on the European Commission's grey list.
