Bulgaria will not switch to the euro

21.05.2024 According to Dimitar Radaev, chairman of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), Bulgaria will not be able to meet all the requirements for joining the eurozone by the time the convergence report is published in June.

Although banks and the banking system are expected to be ready to join the eurozone by the end of the year, however, the same level of readiness does not apply to public administration and local authorities. The political crisis and the lack of determination on the part of the executive are hindering the process.
